I'd Like To Take A Moment To Say... Dayum!
17 lbs. HKC is considered "lightweight" by some rim manufacturers for a 17" rim. figure a lb. for each inch in dia., read it on some damn tire forum somewheres.

yes that's true with all toppings included, however there are 15 pound 17's and they make a world a difference in handling and steering sensitivity. I forget what its called but maybe you physics majors know there's a special term I can't think of that more weight adds rotational stress moving from the inside out and slows the car down considerably.
That's why I think its best to stick to factory spec. Its not about the weight its about this force that occurs on
the rim. Its much like those spinning wheels at the playground. Hah I would look it up if I wasn't on my iPhone. wink1.gif

I like my 17" Konig Kolor's, and they're 17.1lbs. That's light enough for me.

Konig's are very nice rim for the money.

not sure about them man, i mean sure they're like rims and a lot of people like them but i still don't see how they make a fashion statement and stand out from the crowd. i have never liked anything from konig. just me though. i would have liked to see something rarer.
gotta hand you the 15 pounds though. way to keep stock weight.

Uhm, they ARE rims. What do you mean LIKE rims?
It's not a fashion statement, I don't do anything to my car to impress others, I do it for personal satisfaction. I saw these at the Nopi nationals back in 2006, and have wanted them ever since. You don't have to like Konig, that's fine, plenty of folks do, and I'm one of them.
As for "RARER", I've never seen another set of these on a car, other than Caj, whom I suggested them to.
And stock weight?
Please.
The stock rims are almost 20 pounds, and then the tires, since they are bigger, weigh even more than mine. It's a total savings of like 12 pounds per rim/tire if I remember right.

When I weighed my stocker yesterday it came in at 19lbs...
Yup, when I weighed mine, it was something like 32 pounds for the rim/tire combo, before I sold them to Oddisitpashka way back when.

with or without tire? that cannot be possible, my 17' weight at 17lbs each.
It's completely possible. material, construction, the OEM rims are HEAVY, hence why most folks want to put lighter rims on. Or did you think I was pushing lighter rims for the past what, 8 years, because of "style"?

One pound per inch is considered lightweight. Less than one pound per inch is considered extreme lightweight.
How did you know I used the macro function? LOL

And there are 11 pound 15's, what's your point?
Factory spec? HKC, what's up with you lately? For some reason, if it's not an RD, and it's not OEM/Stock looking, it's shit in your eyes? Chill out. This site is here to promote folks modding their cars, not to get them to keep stock parts on.
For the other comments, thanks folks.
BTW, Jon, I almost bought a set of those, I love those rims on your car.
And yes, it's ALL about weight HKC. The lighter the rim, the easier it is to turn, making what power you have, easier to tap into. Most FORGED lightweight rims, will be much lighter, and much stronger, than their OEM counterpart.

Yep. Lightweight rims = 19lbs or smaller. Remember compressed air weighs in heavier then normal air, but lighter then the rubber. Centriugal force also multiplies weight when you're driving at 70mph. Keeping that in mind, there's alot of weight savings there, especially if more of your weight is centrally located.
Good looking rims Z. I like the 2 tone.
