Default Howling Tires?

Running 205/40/17 Nexen N3000s, recently pumped up from 33 to 36psi. Seems to handle a little sharper, a lot less resistance when I let off the throttle. But since I changed the pressure I've been hearing a howling/pulsing noise between 38 and 48 mph.

I assume it's coming from the tires, only other thing I changed was lugnuts and they are recessed in the wheel so I don't see how they could make noise. It's not noticeable with music up, but with it off and the windows up it is quite loud.

No vibration in the pedals or wheel, tracks straight, corners smooth, everything seems to be working fine. I've just never heard tires make this much noise. Any opinions/suggestions?

You've never ridden beside a truck with mud tires when your windows are down then. Let the 3PSI out again and see if it goes away
