Well not to long ago my rd1 started to make this horrible noise that came from the rear left wheel/side. But it only happens whenever i make a left turn...But the noise sounds like a Seal(the animal) yelping???

I have no friggin idea what it is??

At first i thought it was my E-brake sticking...but its definately not that because i stopped using my E-brake for awhile, and it still does it...

So now i think its either my struts or shocks???

Any thoughts on this??

 

Try being a little bit more specific on the conditions when it happens...
does it happen when you are turning and moving really slow (like going out from the parking lot)?
Does it happen when you are braking (if not does it go if you press brake pedal)?

 

Define the yelp of the seal. Is it like a barking mad seal, or a seal in pain, or a seal making sweet love down by the beach?

Ok I had my fun.... first, technically we have struts. We don't have shocks. Sounds wheel bearingish to me, but answer ZMan's questions first.

 

Well it happens when I make any left turn...Slow, fast, or sharp....

And i would classify the noise as a "Seal in pain" haha

But yea...sometimes it makes the noise when i hit a patch of rough road also..

How much are wheel bearings???

It really sounds like a CV joint to me.

CV joint.. or constant velocity Joint are the rubber billows covered connectors on your axles. They allow the suspension to go up and down and the wheels to turn side to side and still transfer power from the transmission to the wheels.. when they go bad they go "click click click click" when turning and applying power.

I am going to say you have a bad wheel bearing. Rear wheel bearings are not hard to replace, but they are an entire unit. Hub and bearing in one.. about 80 bucks from the autmotive store.

I also say wheel bearing. I replaced driver rear hub assy. because as far as I know you can't get just the bearing. You can get a replacement at an auto parts stoe for like $80. I am funny about the parts I put on my car and got a Hyundai oem hub assy. for $120.

 

You might also want to try to grease up your sway bar bushings. That got rid of a squeeking noise I had when turning and going over bumps.
