Default Here's a question for you...

Right now I have 16" Motegi Racing MR7's, wrapped in Dunlop SP Sport FM901's; P205/40ZR16's.
These rims will fit the Elantra that I'm purchasing, but the rubber may end up being a little small when its on the Elantra. The Elantra's stock wheel setup is P195/60-15; since I'm going to get new rubber anyway, I want the widest tread that'll physically fit in the Elantra's wheel-well. So on the Motegi's, would P210{or 215}/45Z{or 50Z}R16's be reasonable? There was a site posted on the old TSR message board where one could compare tire dimesions, does any one recall what it was?

Yeah, sorry. The rims are 7" wide. I know 215's would probably fit, I'm just worried that when the wheels are turned fully that the edges of the rubber may rub.
I need someone to direct me to that site, where you can enter wheel specs and then it lets you know what all the wheel dimensions are.

Jmontigny,
You have 205/50/16's. Your rims are 6.5 inches wide. Mine are seven, so I could go 215/50/16 on my seven inch wide Motegi's. Do you have a lot of clearance on the inside of the wheelwell, between the inside of the tire and the plastic moulding crap?
I hope they fit, nothing looks better on a car then a good sized set of rims and nice wide rubber. Thanks for the help.

It'd still be nice if someone sent me that link. lol

EDIT: my rims have a +42mm offset. I can't remember, but the larger the positive the more recessed the rim is, a larger negative means that the rim sits farther out from the car... Is that right...

215/50/16 should work fine if you have between 40-45mm offset. They are alittle taller overall than oem but you should still be ok.

If you increase offset you will move the wheel under the car more.
