I used to think I was the only one from a long time ago, until last night when I helped an old lady (my neighbor) to change her tires. All of the lug nuts on her wheel were terribly over tighten. I had to rely on the wrench till I twisted the last thread of the lug nut. One of them studs was cross-threaded too.

One of the reasons I hate letting other people touch my car is from when I was a wee little tyke, and my dad rode around with a broken stud* because a tire shop *started* all his lug nuts with the impact gun.

*until he went back and made them replace the stud, free.
