Default Has anyone shipped wheels and tires with the USPS

Would like to know who has done it and did you box or just shrink wrap..

I have my old wheel and tire package I sold on ebay and was going to ship through the post office. There regular rates are slightly under UPS and FEDex. I've shipped many boxes but nothing this big and 4 at a rough estimate has the boxes at 26x26x11 and about 57lbs per box..

With UPS or fedex I can have them schedule a pickup with USPS i think they do the same but have never done it that way..

I cut out some heavy cardboard to cover the rims and then shrink wraped the whole thing. But then again I had a wheel and tire completely trashed from Fed Ex too. Get insurance for sure.
