I would reccomend you do NOT get your wheels machined. You run the risk of the wheels cracking/breaking where material was removed.

Convert your 97 over to non-captive rotors, or go with wheels that accomodate captive rotors.

is there a cheap fix for this problem besides buying new rotors? like maybe an adapter or something? how much would it cost to convert to non-captive?

the wheels i have have 8 holes, any chance the captive bolts would rest in there?

sorry for all the questions, im new to wheels.
thanks for the help.

possibility about the 8 holes. but not likely. easy cheap fix? machining your wheels but not recommended. Youd have to buy the setup from SR for the brake kit or buy the precision brakes kit. either way your spending a nice chunk. I just bought rims that was already machined and made that way that would fit. if your rims has 8 holes then you cant machine it. the center would basically be all cut out.

That 8 holes thang... I saw an Elantra that had the bolts in the other four holes. But you can only do it if the rims are 8x114. I have Shoguns, but 4 are 4x100 and the others are 4x114, so the bolts don't line up to the holes.
