drum to disc conversion
Anyone know what I'll need for a complete conversion to rear disc brakes? I mean, other than rotors and calipers. Do I need a new axle, knuckle, etc?
I also imagine I'll need a new bearing, since the old one is embedded in the drum.
I have a weird clacking coming from the rear right since I cleaned and adjusted the drums last week. It only occurs on bumps with high suspension travel. I didn't have the proper grease to grease the backing plate of the drums, so I'm hoping that's it. I plan on getting some this weekend, but if that doesn't fix the noise, I may move towards a full replacement (I like disc better anyways).
Also, if you know anything about repacking a bearing, please respond to my other thread. smile.gif
thanks,
ac

To do the replacement you need the complete assembly from a tibby or elantra with rear discs...all the way down to the hub/bearing.
no one sells a "kit" but Boogyman might be able to get you the parts cheap...otherwise check a junkyard or www.stcharlesauto.com
