Under heavy heat loads any weak point (drilled or slot) is going to have cracking. Any good quality rotor you purchase today will easily survive day to day uses but track conditions are a different story.



Total failure is not common with a quality product even if you autocross.

to prevent them from cracking as easily you would need to run a cooling duct to them or get wheels designed to cool your rotors.

the only drilled rotors i've seen cracked are when people take oem blancks and drilled them themselves i've seen two tibs with that problem surprisingly they still braked fine

if you buy quality drilled rotors a really doubt they will crack under normal conditions. Installed 4 cross drilled and slotted rotors on my moms altima about 3 years ago and havent had any problems.
