I took a coil out of my springs a few yrs back. Lowered the car the exact same as when I put in the eibach springs. So it dropped me down about 1".

But now I have full coilover setup. I would never go back fing02.gif

You shouldn't do it at all. It's been posted about.

It gives your car a ROUGH RIDE, as in BOUNCING ALL OVER THE GODDAMNED PLACE.

It's not safe to do either. Save up a bit of cash and pick up some Eibach or other springs on ebay.

bad idea!

all springs are designed for a car specific (weight of the car, clearance, suspension geometry, etc...) And by modyfying springs you make it unsafe to ride.

Best way - collect some money and buy springs that was designed for your car.

There are many reasons as to why you should NOT cut your springs.
Regards to the bird who told you to do it, tell him to search here or at the old forums at Hyundai Aftermarket to learn before he tells stories, because he is misleading fellow tuners.

DO NOT CUT YOUR SPRINGS

it is EXTREMELY unsafe i knew someone that cut his and since the spring had no real complete coil to sit on the perch one day he hit a bump and the spring disconnected from the strut causing his car to completely fall on one side of the vehicle on the freeway! after spinning a few times cuz the body fell on the tire he ended up totalling his car

bent the frame, control arm, damaged the inner lining, ripped the hell out of the fender, broke the hub, ruined his 18"rim and his nitto tires and thats just what pictures showed...i still have the pics somewhere online i should look for them

all cuz he didnt want to pay 100 for some actual springs....

If you cut off your springs, I'll cut off your nuts

I swear I will.....
