Cutting Springs
Cutting either is VERY VERY BAD! A coil spring (whether it be aftermarket or stock) is designed to handle specific loads. By cutting a coil or heating the spring up, you change the springs overall load handling, therefor giving you a harsher ride quality, an uneven dropped appearance, more stress on your frame and other suspension parts, and of course...giving you less safety.
There is only one kind of spring that you can actually cut in order to be low to the ground. That would be a hopping coil used for hydraulic applications. These springs are designed to handle a very large amount of pressure all throughout the coils. Mainly because when you're hopping all around you want the coil to be very tough and be able to launch you up into the sky. If you decide to buy a set of hopping coils, they come in stages. The stages are set up for a weight range in vehicles. You can get them, cut them down to almost 2 or 3 coils, and you'll be cruising low....but you're gonna have one major ghetto hoopty ride on your hands because your car will be very bouncy without the hydraulics to keep it stable.
Your best bet is to save up some cash, and buy some aftermarket springs. Good luck! wink.gif

I got Intrax already, I was curious because one of the tuners in my town said he cut some aftermarkets (one coil only though) and they still worked fine...
But I was skeptical about the performance after the cut, i'm still waiting on some feedback from one of his customers.
I'm thinking about going hydro to bring my rear down because the Intrax give you a slanted look like a Dragger I want a little less rear height...

How long ago did you install them? You should give them a good 2-3 weeks settling time. Also, since the rear of the car isn't as heavy, the springs won't settle as quickly, or as low as the front. I know this might sound kind of strange, but for about a week or so, throw a sand bag, dead body, or something else kind of heavy in the back of your hatch. This will help the settling a little, and get rid of that dragger look.
Lo dude we thought u were a ricer, you've come a long way grasshoppa, Lantra98, don't mean to sound well, INTRAX SUX. hehe They do hence why they're so cheap, put 200lbs of chicks in your trunk to get the rear to settle and never cut springs ( I have 2 tibs here that did and the bottom out all over )

If anything, I'm a true lowrider, custom modification, and hot rod person at heart. I love to take a vehicle, and completely turn it into a show worthy piece of art. The springs have been in about 4 1/2 months , plus I only put like 30-60 miles on them a week because I carpool to work. So if I got this right I should takes some old Dumb Bells put them in the trunk to add the weight to help with the breaking in or plan (B)or get two fat chicks from the all you can eat and throw them in the back with a bucket of chicken drive to L.A. and back and I should be good to go.... eek.gif

hey hey hey!! i have intrax and they work just fine. they were only a little cheaper than the eibach, but had a lower drop. 1.5" compared to the 1.2". I have never bottomed out, being my car's front end is still 7" from the ground, (9" stock). do you have a body kit? maybe that is why you bottom out.
