Looking at some new slotted rotors and it says they've been "Cryogenically treated for maximum rotor life."

What does this mean?

 

they freeze the sh*t out of them

supposedly helps them last longer

 

When frozen to incredibly low temperatures using liquid nitrogen it changes the way the molecules in the steel bond. This changes a lot of properties of the metal, especially increasing strength and hardness without becoming brittle. For rotors it's good because the rotors wear a lot less and also are less likely to crack.
