After giving up on DropZone to fix their problem with the DZ5050 set for 01-02 tiburons, I've decided to test another cheap route for spring replacements. At least until DZ returns my money. I'm going with some Coilover sleeves.

En-route, I've got a new set of KYB GR-2 struts and a set of cheap ebay coilover sleeve springs. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...753059&rd=1 I've never seen these before, they're not the brand everyone has used in the past with problems.

Even though I'm sure this thread will shortly be filled with "throw them away, they're garbage..." or "don't put that on because it didn't cost $200".. I'm testing these to see if it's possible to attain a good non-bouncy ride out of them with new shocks. If they suck, I'll just get some Eibachs or maybe stockers..

Either way, it's 4 hours of work and $40 to test them out. If they break, and the company tries to claim that I've installed them wrong, I can point to my DIYs on how to install springs, the issues I've identified with DZ's springs and the pictures of these I'll be taking along the way as credentials.

Any productive suggestions/experiences on these?

You will not like them. You will bounce. Your handling blows balls. You will waste your money and time. They are a safety hazard, if you want to risk it GL to you. They will also ruin you "new struts".

This is coming from experience and not just hear-say. I can't wait for the I told you so thread.

You may be right... We'll see. The I told you so thread will include the installation of eibachs.

Like I said, it's 4 hours on a saturday and less then $45 for these springs. If they suck, it's 1/2 day at the shop wasted playing with my toy. The only other review I've heard is from someone who did not replace their shocks at the same time.

Why waste your time and money? Hell, do what you want I don't care. Put some LED's in your wheel wells so when you'll bounce it will glow nicely.

But back in my ricer days, I had a set, on NEW kyb's and it was BEYOND TERRIBLE. Also ruined the KYB's.

wow.. can't believe you wouldn't even waste the time/money/etc. on that garbage. i thought you were smarter than that DTN.

if they break 'the company' wont replace them or refund them.. they will just claim it wasn't professional install.. but the odds of them breaking aren't great. its the fact that they are universal sleeves/springs with a universal spring rate. and i can't believe your going to risk ruining kyb struts with this crap.. at least waste a set of stockers trying to figure out if 45$ coilover struts will be non bouncy.. lmao.gif

You always make threads asking for help, but never listen to people's inputs..

LoL, its like you say to yourself, "if its cheap, and has a bad reputation from respectable people, it must really work great"

Don't bother bro, save yourself the time & money

^^ I just like trying new things, then reporting back. It's called being a hobbiest. I've never seen this particular brand or heard any results on here. I have resources available to me which make working on my car easy. So, it is my goal to try them, if they suck, let everyone know and then get some new ones.

That's a damn lie. I just don't listen to your input because you claim the TPS and the MAF on every single problem. When someone gives me a suggestion I look into it. I go on webtech, check out the inspection procedures, and follow them if it's within my capabilities.

Stockers are somewhat cheaper, but the idea is, I've been running KYB GR-2 for a long time and stockers would change my suspension system completely. I like KYB GR-2 and it will set me up for my next set of springs if this goes badly. Also, they offer KYB GR-2 singles on e-bay.

Bud...look at it this way.

A Hobbyist in my opinion is someone that REALLY puts forth the time and effort (hence research) into finding the very best of everything for their desired hobby , saves up for the wanted parts, and DOES IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!

ever heard the term,"Can't Get Right"?

Trying new things? THESE ARN'T NEW. Go search over on here and other Hyundai forms.

Never heard any results on here? GO SEARCH. I just told you results from using these right above.

I have resources available to me which make working on my car easy to? Wtf is your point? 4 hours of your time wasted, 50$ wasted, when your struts blow you'll need new ones, and maybe if your lucky you won't get into an accident.

If they suck you'll let everyone know? WE ALREADY KNOW, and we are telling you THEY SUCK. Do you realize how stiff those springs are? But have fun with them.
