Both of my rear calipers are seized up. The driver's side is barely working, and the rear is actually slightly dragging and frozen there.

What are my best options? Get 2 new calipers? Or can I get those caliper repair kits and just take them apart and replace all the internal parts and relube them etc?

I would just get 2 new ones, there are brackets the hold the e-brake cable that do NOT come with new calipers. May want to check to see if your e-brake cable is rusted and stuck as well.

Yeah the ebrake isn't working currently. I pulled the wheel off, and when I move the ebrake cable I can see it moving on the inside as well, so that seems fine.

The thing is 2 new calipers is going to be MUCH more expensive, plus the caliper part is just metal... it's the internals that matter right? Most of the repair kits are like $10 or less, while a new caliper has gotta be at least $70+, and if I go the junkyard route then I'll just end up having the same problem won't I....

Done properly, a rebuild is just as good as a new caliper for a lot less money, I'd say rebuild em' if you're comfortable with the work. Also, of course, new pads, possibly new rotors if you've damaged them at all, if nothing else take them to a shop and get them turned on a lathe to get them flat again. Bleed the rear lines, and adjust the e-brake cable and you should be good to go.

Rebuild them. Not much to them except for pulling out a seized caliper can become a whole day of fun.

I'm comfortable with the work, takings things apart doesn't intimidate me much anymore tongue.gif Plus I'll have some help.

I've never purchased these kits before. What do they consist of? Where do I get them? All my google searches keep directing me back to this site - http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecat...c1363159k878460

I'm assuming "REAR MINOR; Piston Not Included (Only 11 Remaining)" for $13.25 is what I want?
