Default Buying used tires

Other than measuring tread depth, what else should one do when looking to buy a set of used tires?

how old they are, whether there's uneven wear on the center vs. the outsides, any punctures repaired, any cracks in the rubber - check the sidewall for flexibility

The date of manufacture is encoded on the side wall. 6 years is the recommended max. service life.

Check to see whether or not you have adequate insurance coverage.

haha, whatever. Everybody who didn't buy tires in the last couple of months is driving around on used tires. No worries, just be sure you get a decent set.
