I'd like to know...would you recommend buying used KYB GR2 with Eibach coils?
It's from a local ads website...The guys says there's like 10 000km on them and it's a real good price...100$ with a front strut bar!
I need advice regarding what i should check before buying them, i don't want to get screwed lol
Also, I've seen the 2 DIYs about installing struts and it doesn't seems too hard. I was just wondering if i should buy new bolts, endlinks or such stuff while in there.
Thanks for your help!

well if i had the money to buy new stuff i wouldn't be considering buying used suspension parts!
Since my suspension is making weird noises sometimes i though that putting those used performance struts and springs would cost less than replacing with OEM parts...
100$ for shocks, struts and a strut bar, i think it's worth giving it a try!
i'd like to know, what should i check on the parts itself before buying them??

If they're still installed on the car, the bounce test.
Push down/lean on the fender to compress the suspension. It should not bounce twice. If it does the shocks are shot.

Worse case you end up buying gr2's (200 shipped on Ebay, but you are in Canadia so thing might be different). Still cheaper then the 560 I spent on my suspension (but I also got sway bars)

Finally, i bought them. I can't wait to have them installed to see if i got screwed or i made a great deal smile.gif
The only thing is that the top plates are really rusty, is it hard to just swap them with my original ones, without having to compress springs and everything?
Here's a few pics to let you know what i'm talking about:

good deal man fing02.gif
you arent going to pay to have these put on are you? its honestly 5 bolts for each one other than taking the wheel off, and you can install the strut bar while youre at it.

Well...i really don't want to mess anything because it's my daily driver and i need the car everyday to work and go to school. I looked at the 2 DIY and there's a high risk that everything will be stuck in rust, living in Canada surely doesn't help. For example, i had to use a shitload of WD-40 and an impact gun to get rid of the crappy endlinks the guy had left on the struts.
I really prefer to leave that dirty work to a professionnal nana.gif
