Braking problem
Hello again,
Dear Random if you could help me in something i would appreciate.First of all I should tell you that i swapped the rear wheels with the front(the front ones were a bit worn).After i did that when i hit the brakes my steering wheel is shaking a lot.What is the problem?Maybe its the wheels(205/45/16)problem or something else?Furthermore if i am driving with the turbo on,the brakes after a short time dont stop the car,i think that they are being overheated too much!Should i make any further mod(brake pads,pipings,discs)now that i am installing the rear drums?Please if possible give me a good suggestion because everyones giving a different opinion.The last thing i heard is to change the brake fluid with a stronger one!!**** I am confused

First Problem. Steering wheel shaking while braking.
99% of the time, this is caused by warped brake rotors. It COULD...MAYBE..be caused by an out of balanced tire, but that should vibrate all the time. The cheap solution is to take your car in for service. They can check the tires and the rotors at the same time. The rotors may just be slightly warped, in which case then can be "turned". This makes the flat again. If the rotors are warped severly, they will have to be replaced.
If your brakes are fading after spirited driving, the rotors may very well be warped. Heat is building up in the pads, rotor and caliper. To prevent this from happening, you have several options.
#1. Upgrade your brake pads. Performance brake pads continue to work at higher tempatures, so you won't have brake fade, but you increase the chance of warping your rotors due to the higher heat. If you have your rotors "turned", they are thiner, so they can stand less heat, and also have a higher chance of warping, so upgraded pads may not solve this problem, and my actually make it worse.
#2. Replace your rotors with slotted or cross drilled units of the same size.
#3. Replace your rotors and calipers with performance brakes (if you can afford it).
Either way, I would reccomend that you also check out www.frozenrotors.com The service they offer should prevent warping and make the rotors last longer.
www.stranoparts.com has cross-drilled/slotted rotors for the tibby for only $59 each.
Shark Racing has a full big brake upgrade that would solve your problem as well.
