Blue Brake Fluid
QUOTE (Mad-Machine)
eh.. wanted to flush all the old fluid anyway... plus I was thinking of using in the clutch system too.... it can be used there, no?
Yes
And yeah, the Brake master cylinder is pretty small, one litre will do ya and be able to bleed the system. Get another one for the clutch, if you wanna flush both of them good.
I'm sure the GK one is NOT the same, but you might be able to mod it to fit.

Too late. Ordered three last Wed. Just have to figure out WHERE it's @ now. Had it shipped to my friend's house here in Arkansas. It was supposed to be here last Friday. No word yet, though. Kinda worried now.
A SS brake line install WILL happen today come H e l l or high water, though. W/ or w/o the ATE.
Wish us luck!! laugh.gif

ill wish you luck, and give you advice. be careful with the top connection for the brake lines. the bolt is kinda oddly sized(as is the one for the fuel filter). have a pair of vise grip or locking pliers handy for that sucka.
For once, the "rice" has a purpose. ATE Super Blue and ATE Type 200 (which is gold in color) are identical brake fluids except in color. Fill up with blue originally, and when it comes time to flush use the Type 200 till your lines all run gold (and not blue). The process is the opposite when it comes to bleed the Typ 200 again, i.e. bleed till its blue. Great for hardcore track monkeys who need to change fluid every other weekend lol. The 500*F wet and dry boiling points dont hurt either. I love this stuff, and have a fresh can sitting in my basement waiting for spring. 8)
You seem to know the most about this stuff, Skierd... how hydroscopic is it compared to regular DOT3 fluid? That is also a VERY good idea in using the two colours to flush the stuff.

Good thing I was back 'home' in southern Arkansas. It was low 70s today.
Did the complete install. Made the car 'bleed blue' today!! smile.gif
'Bout the only problem we encountered w/ the top screw WAS the shape. My buddy had a set of flare-ended wrenches though, and he got 'em off pretty easy after spraying them down w/ carb cleaner.
Haven't really noticed the 'performance upgrade' feel of the brake lines and fluid combo yet, but looks like I'm driving through some winter weather on the way home tonight (from Nashville, AR to North Lenexa, KS). I'm hoping I won't have to depend on them that much, but in my mind, at least I have it all done in case I need to count on stopping.
FYI: to completely bleed and refill takes less than 1 L on a second gen Tib! lol.gif
