gold wheels on a Subaru are a trademark.

i think black rims are mostly played out. it yells rice. but they can be nice given the good application and good rim choice they can work. still, i think that silver/stainless will always look the best and classiest no matter what. it's like jewlery. it needs to be silver. you don't buy black jewelery for your girlfriend.

i always likes black rims be them stock or not, i hate flashy wheels.

If i were to ever buy rims they would have few spokes like 5 or 6 maybe 7, gloss black with small accent color of the car on each spoke.

If you want to talk about "over done" or "over played" tell the Honda guys around my neck of the woods to stop rattle can painting their pos satin black.

I think it works on your car but black wheels I have to agree are over done not that it can't be pulled off just hard to do and make it look nice.

Wheels need to fit the car in size, style, and color. There is no right answer to the question of whether any aspect of a wheel is right/wrong/ugly/played out/awesome unless you're at least referring to a specific car.

I don't care if everybody absolutely hated black wheels. I would still choose the ones I have on the Tib. Why? Because I like them.
