Am I the only one this poll confuses?
lol.
this poll is weird....i don't think he set it up right.
This is my first attempt at setting up a poll. Like life, there are still many things to learn.
And yeah, the upgraded swaybar makes a huge difference. The car will corner with much less body roll.
About bending a part to fit, that is more to show what is possible than what is feasible. I bought a part that didn't fit and bent it with with no small amount of trouble to fit. I also had a friend crazy enough to do this with, and an excellent garage to work in. Would I recommend other people bending a part? No, unless you're dead sure what you're doing.
Also when upgrading the rear bar, be ready to replace the endlinks attaching the bar to the shocks, especially in the northern US and Canada.
And a big detail I forgot to share. My car's a 99 Elantra.

i used vice grips and mallets to get my endlinks off. not pretty, but worked.
as for bending the part...
if the gk replacement bar is solid metal, then i would say maybe try it. on a hollow bar, like im sure it is, i dont know if i would trust it. bending hollow metal tubing decreases its strength enormously, and the thing really could snap around a hard corner and get you in an accident.
just be careful and take a look at it every once in a while to see if its stressing.

Endlinks are actually really easy to get off, especially if you have a impact wrench.
1. Spray the area with WD40, try to get it in towards the threads. Be careful using PB Blaster or some of the others that could eat the rubber or tear up stuff.
2. Let sit for a few minutes.
3. TIGHTEN the endlink first, just a tiny bit. With a impact wrench, you just need to tap the button for half a second.
4. Loosen. Should pop right off.

the whole GK sway bar thing has been covered, it doesnt work on our rd's. unless you start bending shit, but thats gonna change the geometery around, and just be ghetto. specially when theres true aftermarkets available.
but hey, if you toss the GK bar on, then you can get that tuscani badge youve allways wanted and not feel bad about it cause you got GK part on the car. lmao.gif

One thing to ask - me and my friend were talking to a local tire shop - someone
who actually had worked on a good # of imports / modified cars (as far as tires/rims & lowering)
as well as building up his own personal Honda CRX (the RIGHT way, not the RICE way tongue.gif)
and he suggested that some sway bars are just for show unless its a "oversized" one.
Is this true or is he spitting BS ? For the most part, me and my friend asked him bout
advise on a few different matters while I was picking my friend up (he was dropping his car off for tires).
And he seemed to really know is stuff and after looking up on a few different things,
he pretty much seemed to be telling the truth. But the sway bars I'm still not certain of.
So was he right or wrong ?
