Default Big brakes

I recently read this thread:

I know it is a different forum. Then I read this thread

Has anyone kept the 4x114.3 bolt pattern with 11" or so rotors without drilling? Looks pretty straight forward. I was thinking, since I have '99-'00 tiburon hub and spindle....which is also the elantras, I can get the '03 X350 calipers. And then some rotors. This sound correct? And which rotors have been confirmed to work?

Kia spectra5 rotors are a straight swap and work with the bbk. Be careful on what brackets you get for the xg350 calipers... There are different ones. Think you need the 04 - 05 brackets.

That seems a lot less fishy than using Vr4 rotors. The more I delve into this community the more I'm liking it.

04 or lower brackets. The 05 is what I'm using, it's a 12" that requires a lot more work and the Spectra rotors WILL NOT work.

PS: I have a set of drilled slotted Spectra rotors I am willing to part with for $100/shipped. They have literally 7 miles on them.

edit:

There used to be a guy here that made brackets for the GCs Brembos. With the cheap rebuilt calipers on rockauto you might be able to get away with sourcing everything for under $1k. You'd need to order the hats and rotor discs separately, but a semi-floating setup is completely do-able.

For perspective the my 05 12" BBK was about $500 all-in, the 04- probably can be done today for 400 or less (and a hell of a lot less headache), and pretty much the cheapest pre-build BBK I've seen was around 1300.

Also, if you're into aesthetics there were some calipers for the GKs with "Hyundai" in raised lettering that should fit the XG bracket, though to be honest I have not personally tried this yet.

Just for the sake of info-overload.

Vr4 or evo 3 rotors and 2 pot callipers work great. straight bolt on, just under 11" 276mm rotors. Upgrade to 1" master for great pedal.
