Ok i deal with tires all day everyday, and the best choice of tires are the "Yokohoma AS430"!!!!! i have them on my car, There directional tires, they are "A" temp rating "AA" traction rating, 440 tread wear rating, (lower the tread wear number, longer they last) 60,000 mile warrenty, they handle the BEST in wet and dry weather, i have trouble doing e-brake turns cause they wont break loose!!! and they are good in snow, not great but one of the best directional tires in the snow!! and for 195/60R14 which most of our cars tires are, there about $75 a tire!! check them out guys these tires are NO JOKE!!

very true. case in point: Michelin Hydroedge has a treadwear of about 700. very long lasting tire.

I also work w/ tires on a very regular basis. Tires are my life. lol. would i recommend Yoko's to anyone??? notta chance. there are many tires out there that are cheaper and better performing. Kuhmo Ecsta Supra 712, for example...

and, FOAD, 97 tibs came stock w/ 14" steelies (i believe)

Did you take your tib w/ you when you got relocated Solo??

Personally, I like toyos, I have a set of proxes on my tib right now and they are SOOO much better than the stock tires were.

Since there was mention of stock tires and prices, I know for a fact that around here our stock tires are not very popular and are extremely expenxive. uithink last time I bought them they were like 190+ a tire. And my kuhmo's are 125. Go figure.

I enjoy my Kuhmo's.

My eyes hurt when I read this thread. Thoses tires are good tires for the average joe that wants better tires. If ou want to talk about good tires, talk about Toyo T1-S, Azenis sport, Hankook k104, Dunlop FM901....which are all especially affordable in 15in wink.gif

If you are a little more hardcore  , Toyo Ra-1, Yoko A032R, Z2000...

The stock tires were garbage when dry, garbage when wet and really pieces of sh*t when it came to snow. Even my snow tires were better on dry. I love my 712 that I have now but I need something that last longer without sacrificing performance.
