Howdy,
I'm new here, but not new to vehicle forums. My wife has an 04 Tiburon GT with the stock five spoke 17" aluminum alloy rim and P215/45HR17 Michelin All Season Pilot MXM4 tires. We've gone through two tires and rims from hitting potholes and speed bumps. I'm looking for an alternitive to continuing to replace these $$$ things. What other rim/tire sizes fit the 04 Tibby? Looking for nice looking rims, and tires, but not as low profile tire or as expensive. Any help is appriciated!

http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

that website will tell and show you how much of a difference in the sizes will be... also, it will tell you how your speedometer will be affected.

215/50/16 for smaller rims..

take a look at the stickied thread in this forum. it will help you out a lot
