I have the 15 inch stock wheels on the tiburon I bought. Is there any good things about the rims that offset their size and look?
Thanks

they are of a smaller diameter and are lighter than most 16-17" rims, with a small diameter and lighter weight you have less rotational mass and (sorta acts like smaller gears on a bicycle, larger "gears" or tires require more work to spin as fast as smaller "gears").

BUt in all reality, I slapped 17" rims on my tib and lowered her and have no regrets with her top speed, acceleration, or looks... wink1.gif

It's not the smallest you can put (I have 14" steelies for winter).

If you like design of stock rims - why not use them?

They are not the lightest rims though. The lightest I saw were russian forged rims - 13 lbs (15")

^word... not to be an ass but how could there be a down side to stock rims ...they are stock,,
they do hold up in a crash ok.. but in a crash there are to many out side forces that come in to play

I just bought some light 17's for the looks, but plan to put slicks on the stockers for autocross. They're perfect for that cause they're really not that heavy, they're durable, and they're cheap. lol

i have Canadian-spec 15" stock rims that look different than what most of you have...

and the design isn't as bad as the US-spec... nana.gif

i'm gonna put snow tires on them after this winter

Hell yah Spart, first time I heard someone tell the truth!!! Those things make me barf. Some people tell me first gen 15's are ugly and the second gen ones are nice. PFFF, first gen ones rock, they're agressive, smoothe like the car, and go with that whole shark theme. How can anyone say they're ugly, yet you got something as ugly as the 2000 rims looking like split bananas...c'mon now.

Anyways, stockers are the best way to go without problems. then you're into murky waters. i cracked my 17' rim and have quite a bumpy ride day to day. really ruins the car. but i love the look...
