I searched all over to find rims that i liked that would fit captive rotors and to find out i never really had them

If you have a 97, you have captive rotors. If you removed the rear wheel, the rear rotors are not captive on ANY year. Only the fronts.
The fronts are captive for 97 and 98. Only way you could NOT have captive rotors is if someone who owned the car before you replaced them with non captive.
Did you buy the car used?

sup Random, i knew that only the fronts would be captive..the first wheel we took off was the front driver side..and we both looked at each other like wtf!?!?..we put the wheel on then did passenger front....sae thing..so we figured since i was the second owner of the car..the first owner changed them..

If you've got non captive fronts, that's what happened. Hey, makes wheel shopping much easier, and also means you've got newer bearings and newer rotors! wink
