235/40/17 tires on Tibo 01 will those fit?
I've got a new rims 17x7.5 ET 42 and now need a new tires. I have Tiburon 2001 with cuda1 body kit on it. OEM 15' wheels looks weird on it now, so I need something higher and wider. I tried 17' wheels with 205/40 tires and its still too deep inside. Considering to put 235/40/17, but not sure if those gonna fit inside and will be able to make a turns?

They might fit, but you'll probably need at least a 5mm spacer and will have to roll the fender lips. Your main problem is strut clearance. If you space the wheel out far enough to clear the strut, it might start rubbing the fender. Oh, and if you run 235's, you're gonna need to drop your aspect ratio to 35-series or your tire height is gonna be about an inch taller than the stock 195/55-15's.

^^I agree you may need to work a lil to make them fit also you may have to switvh springs cuase they may hit the inside wheel well when you hit pot holes and what not.

Thanks guys!
I am really new in all this mechanical stuff, just learning and trying to figure out things blink.gif
What about 225/35/17 ? Will its fit better? And which springs are better to buy?

You're gonna lower it too? Forget everything I said... Go with 205's. I thought you were keeping it stock height. If you lower it, no amount of fender rolling is going to allow you to run a 235 and a 7.5" wide rim... at least, not safely.

If you want to know the maximum tire width you can run, measure from your strut tower to the fender lip. That'll be close to your maximum if you get your wheel backspacing right and roll your fender lip. You can even go onto tirerack and check the actual tire tread width installed on certain widths of wheels for comparison. A 235 can vary in installed width from tire model to tire model.
Also, a 7.5" wide wheel with a 9.25" wide tire won't work out that well. It'll mount but not be optimal.
