Default 215/17/45?

Can the fender well of a 2000 Tiburon handle a 215/17/45 without rubbing and with an eibach drop?

I would say NO DON'T DO IT.

I have 205/45/17's and had the intrax 1.5" drop springs, I was ok on straights and most corners but if there was any kind of incline the wheel would rub and roll out the inside of the fender.

HUGE pain in the ass ... I had it looked at and was told that as bad as it was rolling, rolling or shaving my fender would not help so I sold the springs. And that was on on 205's 215's would stick out more.

neo, the tires would only stick out more if the offset of the rim isn't right for the width. i plan on getting 215's, so want to know if this works.

I think we need to figure out what fits best with a 1.5' drop

It really depends on the offset of your 17" wheels.

+35's move the wheel OUT more
+42's move the wheel IN more.

It's not so much that the wheel sticks out more ... it's that the rolling diameter of the tire is more than stock and the tires WILL rub ... a 205/45/17 adds almost a full inch to the rolling diameter, and yeah a 215/45/17 will be too big too.

The 17" is going to look better ... but you need to get the rolling diameter of the new setup (your shop shop be able to tell you that ... it will be determined by the size and width of rim as well as the size of tire ... then just compare it to stock and as long as they are close you are fine... I BELIEVE stock was around 23.4" but the dealership can confirm that.
