19 in rims on a 2001 tiburon

I currently have 18 in rims on my car with 225 40/18 tires on them. I was wondering if 19 in rims will fit with low pro tires. Has anybody put 19 in rims on their tiburon? My 18 in rims dont rub at all. My car is lowered an inch too.

Shadohh 04-03-2003 01:57 PM

18/40/225 ?

How you like that rubbing?

how...that tires gotta stick out from the fender.

Man are you for real?

justin 04-03-2003 11:51 PM

lol. i wont make fun of you, but the tires seem bit. anyway
the only 19's i know of is turbulance from hp. im not sure if he posts here or not. he now has a lime green mps kitted tib, but he also has air to compensate.

I'm running 18x7's with 225/35/18 tires lowered 30-40mm on eibach springs, and believe me I drive like no grandma and there is zero rubbing even on full lock.

Barry.

Urban_Racer 04-04-2003 05:22 AM

barry does drive like a grandma, ive seen him.

never gets passed 45mph....... wiggle_m

BUT: he definitely doesnt get any rubbing

tiburon422 04-04-2003 03:01 PM

I lowered my car 2 inches. No rubbing whatsoever! My 18 in rims were tucked in a little and I can turn all the way with out rubbing. Trust me they dont rub! Some 18 in rims stick out more than others but my rims are tucked in well. I have tenzo shu-4's. Rolling on 225/40/18 tires. So do you guys think 19in rims would look nice. I am planning to use them for show and use my current 18 in rims for daily driving. :D

MaierApril 04-04-2003 05:39 PM

damn...17 is the highest I would go.

16" would be perfect for me, but I can't get them due to the brakes I have :D

I guess I should answer his question regarding the 19s. Unless you are just using them for show, I would stick with the 18s. You will sacrifice a lot of ride quality with 35 series tires. Not to mention more chance of curb checks and scratches. Especially if you car is your daily driver.

no man, i dont think u made hootie look like an idiot. i think you look pretty dumb for taking pics of a moving cobalt blue tib that you passed while your dad was driving on the way home from vacation last summer.
you took pics from the internet of parts you wanted and pasted them onto a page. is your veilside kit real? alpine turbo and obx headers? zex too?
stop wasting people's time

Hootie 04-05-2003 10:06 AM

Wow, look what I started. evil_gri

Ok, Mr. 422. Please post some STILL shots of your Tiburon. I would like to see what it looks like when it's lowered 2 inches on top of those 18s.

tiburon422 04-05-2003 01:19 PM

Fine, I will show pics of my car when it is still in the cardomain. I will take pics in the morn. and post them soon. I will do a shot showing that it doesnt rub. I dont B.S..Ask barry. he has 18 in rims too... lowered too. The car is all mine. If it wasnt mine, why the hell whould I be asking about 19 in. rims? I am going to prove u guys wrong again. lol so stop messing with me and face that u are wrong. Justin, If you think I am wasting ur time, stop posting. Nobody wants to hear u whining. lol Quit acting like a 4th grader. tongue.gif Dont give me an attitude. If you give me an attitude you will get it back in return! I dont have beef with hootie. I was just kidding around with him because he was messing with me. Stop butting in justin. This is getting way off the subject. All I was asking for is if 19 in rims would be a good idea or not.

BTW, Yes it is a real veilside! I am sponsered by fusion. Turbo is coming next. not to sure about the zex.

Listen Justin, I kno Mr.422 because I'm apart of the FUSION team and he ain't lying buddah! His 18 inch rims don't not rub at all!!! When I help him take pics of his car with my digi cam, we will make you look like a FOOL!!!!!!!!!! So don't give my friend attitude because my V6 Accord can burn ur tiburon anywhere, anyday, and anytime!!!!!! Don't you worry, pics will be up soon kid.

Hootie 04-05-2003 02:10 PM

422,

As a moderator of a section of this site, allow me to be the first to inform you to mind your own attitude. The last I checked, HA did not have a flame forum so let's keep it that way. Any further infractions by you or anyone else and I will request that this thread be locked.

History has shown us that a lot of newbies have a tendancy to bend the truth when they talk about their cars. If yours is legit then fine; so be it.

As I explained earlier, my post was in response to your 2 posts regarding the difference in ride height BEFORE you posted that you could adjust your ride height.

We anxiously await your pictures.

long 04-07-2003 03:18 AM

i think you can fit 19" rims on the tib only if your body kit is a full replacement or if you dont have a body kit.

if you have any add on pieces for the kit then most likely you cant fit 19". the add on pieces will take away a total of about an inch in the wheel well so the tires will rub.

i have add on pieces in the back and add on for side skirts so looking at my tire theres no way i could fit 19". if i had replacement bumpers and side skirts then the wheel well wouldnt have been affected and 19's would be on their way to me. but oh well. 18" will be fine.

tiburon422 04-07-2003 11:52 AM

I didnt take pics cause it is actually snowing right now. The weayther sucks here. I will post pics sometime soon this week when it stops snowing. I promise.

Folks had requested, and you said you would post....
STATIONARY photos, not photos of a tibby that passed you on the road.
close up of the tire so we can read the tire size markings.

Your car domain site has stationary photos now, but no close ups of the wheels/tires so we can read size. poke

Here you go a picture for the non-picture poster of my tibby's 18's when lowered 30-40mm wink http://www.hyundaiperformance.com/images/m...gs/car992_9.jpg

Barry.

Urban_Racer 04-18-2003 08:01 PM

id say barry could go down another 1/2 an inch and still not rub but i think that having 35 series tyres on 18s is a bit different than 40 series....

and with 35 series tyres, a full eibach setup Barrys car handles the road superbly and is as smooth on the bumps as my coupe and its suspension is standard with standard 15'alloys.

oh and my opinion holds a little more weight as ive been in Barrys car smile.gif

ONLY1DB 04-19-2003 12:25 AM

there is also a slight difference between 215/35 r 18 and 225/40 r 18....that i believe is the BS call....and well there are still no pics??? dunno what_the
