Yeah, and a 35 side wall, though pretty short, isn't that bad as long as the roads around you are in fair condition. If you have a lot of potholes and whatnot, you may want to look into a set of 17's.

a 205/35r18 has a 4 tenths of a inch shorter sidewall than a 205/40r17 that everyone seems to run

hell if you run a 215/35r18 you have the same size sidewall

realize that the middle number is just a aspect ratio

or you can run a 215/35r18 which is only .4 taller and have a shitload more options.

That's almost 1/2". That's alot on a Tiburon.

I ran 215/35/18's on the Accent for a while. (I know lol) tongue.gif

I hated it because the tires were WAY overpriced if you wanted anything decent and since the tires would not look low until you were below 10 PSI or so on the Accent I was replacing them all the time since the wife constantly ran them low.

Even on a GK which is larger I think an 18 looks like too much wheel most of the time.

not really at stock height i clear 195/75r14s on the wagon

thats 2" taller than stock

i got em cuz they were used and cheap lol

absolutely no rubbing at all

hell people lower there cars even more than the eibachs and the stock tires dont rub (3" drop) i dont see why a .4 taller tire would rub with a 1.8" drop

ill have to make some measurements on my j2 and see exactly how wide/tall we can go without rubbing

maybe my family sedan can just clear bigger tires than your coupe i donno

There's no rubbing on a 1.6 (more like 2") drop on the elantra. I think the tib has smaller fenders. Also depends on tire manufacturer.

I find it easier just to order from tirerack and call it a day.

Tib fender wells are smaller. Besides, I'm not referring to rubbing. I'm referring to the gearing. Unless you've got a bunch of parts on the motor, we're talking about a 120whp car.

My first post... when I mentioned the overall diameter. Larger diameter + 120whp = slow.

^you mean the larger the diamter of the wheel, it decreases horsepower? i would think so, and i also am sure it messes up the actual speed the car thinks it's going.
