No way man..18"s nah...Im a bit of a n00b but i think im right.. laugh.gif

When ur tyres have a lot of rubber they work on that so when u go over some hump u dont feel it as much, if u drive on 18s this means to fit them on u would have to put like strip of rubber, this would mean that when u drive, the car doesnt work on the tyres - instead it all goes into ur suspention and the car itself becomes harder on the road. You will dent your wheels so easily, it will add weight to your car and i reckon it would look a bit too big for a Tibby wink1.gif just go 17s put a decent tire on and maybe lower the car (if you're stock). Would look good and wont be very b1tchy on the road wink1.gif Or maybe u like when u feel every slight hump in the road..?

Anyway dont burn me too hard if i said smth wrong=D im just a n00b haha

Good luck champ wink1.gif

17s are to big. They can look ok on a kitted tib, as long as you put a higher profile tire on them.
but 18s will Allways be to big for a Tib.

I think 18s are way to big. 17s are pretty big on our cars. 16s look really good. 15s are nice because they are usually light and dont look to bad. If your the show type get some nice 17s

i had 18s on my elantra about 4 years ago

dont get me wrong they looked nice BUT it will get annoying REALLY quick every pothole or uneven road and youll get shaken around like crazy

tires are insanely expensive (well they were 4 years ago lol)

after i fell off the cliff and shattered them i put the stockers back on and the car was alot more fun to drive lol

I have 18's now but thinking of going with some light weight 17's by Centerline. Centerline also makes an 18 that is only 17 lbs.!!! Not to bad if you want mostly show but a little bit of go as well! I love my 18's. Not sure how I will like 17's. Never had a problem rubbing with the 18's, and I have the eibach pro kit which lowers the car about 1.5' after everything settled. I think 18's look great on a RD1 or RD2. You will suffer from a harsher ride, but its not that bad, really.

I say get what you want, but be SMART about it if you go with the 18's If you go that route, get forged light weight rims. If you go to Centerline, they have specials on some of their styles.

Ericy321- nice rims dude!!! I have the same set!! DV-8's right?? looks like you got them from ICW racing as well!

i've got 18's and i love them, but i'm not going for performance. i got 18in falken circuit spec in gunmetal with 215/35 kumho ecsta. no rubbing and the car doesn't ride so damn low and they only cost me $1350 i say go for it, also only tiburon in Alton on 18's. i'll post pics soon no digital camera

I don't know what you guys are talking about...i just bought 18's from tdonnell for 300 bucks with tires and I'm not lying about what I'm about too say:

I took off the stock rims and they DID weigh approx the same.

The new rims look alot better than the stock ones did.

Handling has improved greatly. The body role has been decreased dramatically.

The rims did not slow me down one bit...I can still keep up with the same cars that I could before.

Also, how many of the people saying that 18's are bad actually had them?

Yes they are, never noticed you had the same ones. I still have 3 of them but I cant afford to replace the fourth. I had to replace one a while ago and it was like 200. Someday hopefully Ill have a set again. I loved those wheels but I wouldnt put them on my car now with the turbo and stuff

But the weight is further out.

Handeling better because you used bad tire pressures in your 15s, yes tire press makes a huge difference.

Do a dyno before and after or down the drag strip, adn use a Gtech at a road coourse not what you feel what you can keep up with *cough* streetracing.
