ham head your 17 and you have 3 cars? all on the road?

my first car was supposed to be a 90 thunderbird. A month before it was to be passed down to me he got hit by a speeding drunk in the ass at a red light; the transferred momentum sent him flying into the next car so it was bashed from both ends ...

So my actual first car, in my name, was a red 97 cut supreme .. last year for the cutty. it had 130k on it. My dad needed a car fast after the T-bird wreck and he bought the cutty, the next day he sold the car to me and used the money as a down payment for a new ranger for him(its nice) i loved my cutty. it had a six in it so it wasnt totallly slow, had a good top end. every body had rust buckets in my highschool so i had the nicest car. it had no problems at all at first. a year later the waterpump busted and it overheated the car before i could figure out what was wrong. of course i blew the headgasket. i had 2% milk for oil hehe.. but i ran it until it died, literally. The last time it ran was on the way to the dealership that i was selling it to(for parts). The funny thing is that it ran nice on the way there. then when the guy came to move it to the back of the dealership it wouldnt start.

After borrowing my mother's 98 grand am i considered buying it from her because it "only" had just over 100k on it. it was a nice little car, but it had the same engine as my cutty so i was afraid it would die again.

I then started looking at hyundais b/c of the warranty. i was going to get a new elantra. thought about a GK. then i saw my tibby. next day i was driving it. i love my tibby because its uncommon, beautiful, i can mod it, and it does the 1/4 mile in under 10 seconds stock! hehe

My first car, although technically not mine, was a 1976 Ford F-100 4x4.
I turned 16 and didn't have wheels so my dad let me drive his old beater truck that I learned to drive on when I was 5 (not kidding, i was driving this truck at 5, shifting and steering, my dad on the peddles). I love that truck. 390 c.i. 4 barrel. Friggin' fast as hell for a truck. Indestructable. The only problem was it had an aftermarket second gas tank with no gauge. I ran out of gas so many damn times. That truck left me walking more times than I care to count, and all of it because I forgot to switch gas tanks.

My truely First Car was my 1974 Dodge Dart Swinger. I got it when I was 17 (only 6 long years ago). Pulm Purple with a black vinyl top and black vinyl interior (killer in the summer). It spent the first 18 months I owned it up on blocks getting the suspension rebuilt. Poor car still doesn't get driven much. I can't afford the gas or the tools required to keep it running. My little Dart is the second fastest car I've ever driven. (Fastest car would be my Dad's 69' Charger R/T)

There's also the p.o.s. Daytona, but I won't go there. stupid little crappy piece of ****.

hehehe, my first car was my 1990 Berretta. Hot car IMO. But poorly put together. LEMON all the way. My friends and I played Squirrel Patrol with it. In hindsight not a very good idea, we would drive around swerving at squirrels trying to hit them. Garbage cans, mailboxes, and recycle bins with the usual victims though.

With that car I actually used the excuse "My homework is going to be late cause it's frozen in the backseat of my car" I had no heat for the first bit of the first winter I had it. No heat + a lot of snow = puddles in the back seat.

Good times, we still have it. I want to restore it.

Yep, all three run. tongue.gif My dad knows a lot about cars/insurance/mechanical in general, and he gave me advice on how to cheapen them as much as possible. I pay $300 a year on the Corvette for $10,000 of insurance with an antique plate. I can't drive it more than 3,000 miles per year, and believe me they come by and check the speedo. I run a dealer plate on the Tib and GSX(My dad used to own a dealership and still has the insurance) which is a few hundred a year for me, but I can't go more than 150 miles from the dealership location, but so far I've never really had to drive that far. The GSX I swap the dealer plate onto as well whenever I take it to the track, etc. tongue.gif

93 Ford Escort.... not a great car but i only paid $100 for it and it ran great. Also my first standard car. Guess it was worth paying 100 to learn stick.
