Toyota, Lexus top Consumer Reports's Car Reliability Survey
In search of a new vehicle? Consumer Reports has rated Toyota the number one brand and Lexus the number two brand for the second year in a row in its annual Car Reliability Survey of the new-vehicle market.
That means a Toyota brand has now led the rankings for eight years in a row. Mazda, Honda, and Subaru joined Toyota in the top 10. As for the least reliable brand, Fiat scored the lowest of the 28 brands.
The survey is seen as a key factor in influencing American car shoppers.

I gotta hand it to Toyota, for as boring as most of their products are these days they have a serious history of reliable products.
I
my MR2. The engine is [seems for it's age] just as strong as the day it left the factory, and she's now over 250k.
If only I could say that about the body

I bought an 81 Toyota corolla in 1998 with 210k for $50 (needed a temporary beater) thinking it would die and it never did! An old friend bought it from me a few years later and he still drives it today. The body is shot to hell and it smokes like a freight train. It still fires right up with 433k!!! I would bet on a Toyota outlasting everything else.
