Well... The time has come i need a bigger vehicle and 4wd is a must now... The tib is currently for sale.. its basically stock with a cai, and about 1k worth of stereo equipment that I am leaving besides the HU. only 54k miles on it, clean paint, fully loaded... selling for i think a reasonable 4999
now the big question is what kinda suv should i get? I dont wanna spend alot at all.. was thinking 10 grand tops.
2000 or newer cherokee... could even get a 2000 with 100k miles for like 5 grand and will last along time
1999 or newer ford explorer?
1997 or newer durango?
im clueless.... thoughts?

I like my old jeep grand Cherokee, good vehicle, not a tib replacement though... but I don't like trucks.

Avoid the older Durango's at all costs. My grandfather has a 2000 Durango he bought brand new and ever since he's had it it's been one problem after another. The interior is cheap as hell, it is BRUTAL on gas and I can't tell you how many times we've had to remove door pannels in order to change the locks/opening mechanisms/actuators in there because of how cheap Dodge is on quality. It's not a very comfortable SUV either. As for the other ones, I really can't give you my opinion since I've never even sat in one.
Just thought I'd throw in my opinion on the Durango before you decided to go out and get one.

On the other hand, my old Ramcharger was the most comfortable car I've ever had, and my Wife agrees. Too bad about that whole 8MPG thing 02.gif

decided on a 2005 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.7L v8 with leather interior with heated seats and all that good stuff. Im going to make the 2 hour drive for it in just a bit, when im home I will post a few pics.
the 2001 tiburon with 55k miles was sold for 4200. Sad day. I liked the tib, but my mechanic friend said exhaust and tranny was startin to go bad and I figured it would b a good excuse for 4x4.

Awesome, good catch. Wait... $4,200 for a tib with 55k miles? That seems like a steal! I'd pay that if it was in good condition, just swap it for a 5spd. My auto crashed after 63k miles, twice
