Okay, they opened up a Smart Car dealership here in ABQ, and I went and messed around in one the other day.
I'm getting one for SURE.
Wait is a year for them, so timing is perfect, but that will be my daily commuter.
Anyone else like em>?

70hp for $12k-17k ... I'll pass. Don't get into a head on collision with any bicyclists, you might lose the battle!
they do look cool - saw tons of them in Europe... but I'd never own one. Might be good if you only needed it to drive 2 miles to work and back, or across the street to the beach.

i was pricing em out, and they are way expensive for what they are.. misewell get an accent.. still get fantastic mpg and much more room.. and cheaper, with more power.
they are cool lookin cars, but way too much $$ for what they are.

I'd sport one. You know, a really big upgrade for them is a Hyabusa engine.

Cheap to buy, cheap to modify, you can't go wrong! I almost got one before I decided I'd treat myself to a tib!

Really depends where you will be using it.
If you drive 20mi of interstate roadway @65-75mph a day, chances are you will trade it in soon.
City driving is different, more based toward why the car was made.
Another thing is accidents, I don't even want to see one that has been involved in a front end collision, or any collision for that matter, it will still end up a pancake either way.
Overall for small distances and slow speeds its a good car.

if it were me, I'd rather go for a mini cooper nicely equipped for $20,000. It gets 27-40MPG
or pay a little more and get the 200hp Mini Cooper S
