wow Saab sucks though, it has absolutely nothing to do with sport whatsoever... they make airplane engines and went bankrupt, and that's about it. it's nice to see some Manufacturers come in, but overall it's never ever ever going to be as great as the 90's with icons McRae, Sainz, Makinen, Burns, Kankkunen...etc.
thanks for sharing this though. have you seen the new WRC.com website? sucks bigtime. the 2001 spec one was sooooooo perfect!!!

Volkswagen, Toyota (ironic), coming too.
the author forgot SEAT, totaling 9 Manufacturers, excluding Renault F2 for a total of 10 manufacturers racing each other at once. How the fvck do you go from 10 down to 2? The author is comparing F1 to WRC. There is nothing to compare to.
anyways, the Scirocco, Yaris, C4, Focus are all boring ugly as sh:t cars.

"So there we have it. One weekend in Germany and up to three new manufacturers already knocking on the door. Of course it may take some time to get back to the days when Citroen, Ford, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Peugeot, Skoda and Subaru were all competing together (2002) but there’s a strong argument to say we don’t need that many.
After all; Formula One only has two genuine factory teams (Mercedes and Ferrari, plus arguably Renault). And the last time we looked, Formula One wasn’t faring badly."
