Here she is. Just bought her today. 1986 300zx, aka z31, aka Fairlady Z

Found it on Ebay and it just happened to be right down the street from my house.
This will be my winter beater. I don't plan on doing any mods to it.

You sound like my wife/friends/boss/everyone else!!
Not so much that it will be a winter beater, but that I won't be using the Tib to plow the roads

I have driven RWD in the snow.. it is not that bad as long as you are prepared. Quite a bit of fun if you have the room.

I can however recall sliding a 26 foot box truck sideways on blackice once... that was a clean my undies kind of moment.

As for the Z.. my Father had one just like that. Hated the digital dash, but the car was great fun. Replacing the radiator was no fun though. It lays down flat in the nose and has to be pulled forwards to get it free.

Watch out for rust.. that is what killed my Father's

it's possible, but just not worth the risk and money on snow tires.

The car came from California originally and has only been in the NE for the past 4 years.
Only two small rust spots on the whole car. It was just painted last year. Analog dash/no crappy digital. 139,000 miles -a little over 7300 a year!! It's inspected and runs. The only thing I need to fix is the driver side window motor (common issue) and the exhaust is completely shot. Perfect opportunity for my first upgrade!!!
