All-New Acura TSX Sports Sedan Makes World Debut
at North American International Auto Show

DETROIT, January 5, 2003 ˇV The all-new Acura TSX sports sedan made its world debut at the North American International Auto Show today, giving Acuraˇ¦s lineup an entry luxury performance vehicle positioned between the hot-selling RSX sports coupe and Acuraˇ¦s top-selling 3.2 TL luxury performance sedan.
ˇ§The TSX is designed to compete head on with other premium sport sedans from Europe and Japan,ˇ¨ said **** Colliver, Acura executive vice president, sales. ˇ§With 200 horsepower, a 6-speed manual transmission, race-bred suspension and an abundance of features, the TSX has what it takes to be a success in this hotly contested segment.ˇ¨
The TSX features a 2.4-liter DOHC, i-VTEC engine that generates 200 horsepower at 6800 rpm and 166 lb-ft of torque at 4500 rpm. The i-VTEC ˇ§intelligentˇ¨ valve-control system adjusts valve timing and lift for enhanced performance across a broad power band in addition to improved fuel economy and reduced exhaust emissions.

The TSX is equipped with a drive-by-wire throttle control system for smooth acceleration. It comes with either a close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission or a performance-oriented 5-speed Sequential SportShift㤠automatic transmission for precise control of the powerful engine.
To deliver precise, responsive handling, the TSX utilizes an extremely rigid unit body structure, a race-bred, 4-wheel-independent double-wishbone suspension, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), 17-inch alloy wheels and P215/50R17 all-season performance tires.
The TSX features an aggressive wedge design with strong character lines and a highly aerodynamic body. In front, styling cues include Acuraˇ¦s signature 5-sided grille, stylish High Intensity Discharge (HID) head lights and lower air intakes that evoke the image of racing brake ducts. In the rear, the backlight slopes to meet a short trunk lid, which terminates sharply to help air separate cleanly off the back of the car at speed.
The cockpit of the TSX is sporty yet refined. It is comprehensively equipped with deeply-bolstered perforated leather seating, a power moonroof, a leather-wrapped three-spoke sport steering wheel with integrated audio and cruise controls, dual-zone automatic climate control, an Acura premium audio system, power windows and door locks and keyless entry. The Acura TSX sport sedan will go on sale at Acura dealerships nationwide in April 2003.

U know it looks kinda plain and not to my liking like I thought that it would be changed and brought over as from the Accord Type R version It looks just like the regualar accord with the J-spec look but with a TL grill and the new Accords Wheels....I would encorporated a sleek 5-door, with the Type R's looks, with a CL Type S look and some styling cues from the, NSX....I mean it will sell because people are to dumb to see thats its the same old accord from last year, and the new one is just the same acorrd with a longer wheel base and more power....I was still hoping for RWD/AWD, a V6 or V8 But now im disapointed...I mean, everyone thinks that my car looks like an RSX and they get confused and I say well that the new TSX should look some what similar but now I see they are just going to keep it plain...Like some one said an over price accord just like the Old Vigor was....And also if u look close into the head lights it looks like they were taking from the Odyssey

But I sure do love the new Element now I can say i might buy that honda and a new one at that for the price it seems like its worth it. the only thing I just wish it had the Preludes 4 Cylinder...

The TSX is actually the European/Japanese version of the Accord.

The USA spec Accord is bigger/longer/wider and has the V6 option.

I was saying that it is the J spec version except when it does come over here, as a Type S or an Type R if Permisable it will have a 3.2 V6 rating at 240-260Hp and the other 3.2's in the Model line up's will be rasied and the RL should get the V8
