I am pretty sure that going into production the headlights, taillights, and the rear undertray will change. Remember, the EVO is mostly a rally car for the street. rally cars need light if they want to survive a night stage.

I agree with most of you, mixed feelings. This car is like a blend of a lot of cars. Roundy on the side like a Passat, front and rear lamps that resemble the lights on the Alfa Romeo 146 (I am not sure about the model denomination though); has traces of Accord and even something you haven't commented but I dislike a lot, that kind of a gill line (exactly as the GK's have) that imo looks awful on a 4 door car.

The previous Lancer looked boxy and ugly imo, this would look better for a 1.6 equipped street car with no further pretentions, but for a heritage rally car... looks like a multiple personality car; I don't like it too much. However, if I had the money, I'd probably buy one because of some other things it has, you know... lmao.gif

Well yeah, but remember the rally cars add a HUGE headlamp assembly for the night stages... they have like 4-6 big Hella driving lights there, so they could just dump the OEM headlights for that purpuse; they don't do it because it's part of the rules, the OEM headlamps actually HAVE TO work to allow the use of the added lamps.

However, I agree with you, I bet the definite production model will have bigger headlamps, and probably taillamps too (aren't there any regulations in the US for that? It's not a silly Q, you guys have regulations for everything! lmao.gif i.E. orange colored corners, plastic headlamps, etc, etc)

f.i.a. says no more night stages in rallying boys. mitsubishi will retire the sport before this concept comes out.

I like it. I've always been fond of the Evo series. To extract nearly 280HP from a 2.0L from the factory is impressive.

If that is what the next generation looks like, I might consider it.
