Infiniti G35 = U.s Skyline???
#1
I have read a few places that the Infiniti G35 is the US version of the Skyline. Is this true? Because you can check out some G35's on Cardomain and they have skyline badges and i read about it some other places to, just wanted to see what other people say about this.

Ok, the G35 is NOT the American Skyline. It is not marketed as such and is a missconception. However, if you wanna know when the skyline is coming to America here you go.

The Nissan Skyline was obviously designed by the arcade game generation to take on the Sega Rally Machine..tongue.gif G35 = U.S. Skyline.
**EDIT**
Correct me if I'm wrong, but that '07 Skyline GT-R looks an awful lot like the Nissan 350Z.. even more than the G35.

^i've seen that gtr, i think its only concept.
But im sure the g35 is the us skyline look at these links.
Japan:
Japan Nissan
US:
US Infiniti
Look at the japanese site and look under sedan, u'll see the G35-Sedan, then go under sports/performance, u'll see the G35 Coupe.
Also, im not sure how much u guys know about nissans but, the skylines are ranked by R3*,
eg
R33:
http://www.rs-watanabe.co.jp/images/...ery/r33/a1.jpg
R34:
http://www.aresspeed.com.au/may/r34-bomex2_l.jpg
The pattern is that the newer the car the R3* + 1. So this is really the R35, not the G35, y' no wat i mean?

The 350Z isn't the american verison of the Fairlady, The twinturbo 300ZX is.
And another thing, the G35 and the 350Z have the same 3.5 liter V6. Lexus also has a rip off of the 350 design, though their design has more curves.

Ok.. let's lay a few misconnceptions to rest here..
the G35 Sedan is indeed the Skyline in Japan. But remember, the Skyline in japan comes as several models, everything from a standard grocery getter with a 2.0 through the GT-S which only has rear wheel drive, to the almightly GT-R. the word "Skyline" is just a model, it is the submodels that are interesting.
Of note.. Nissan is thinking of just marketing the GT-R as a stand alone model
The Fairlady gets it's start with the Datsun(nissan) roadster back in the late 60s and was applied to all the Z's up to and including the newest model. Yes, the 350Z is also referred to as a Fairlady Z in Japan.

The Altima LS also has that 350z 3.5l in it, my fraternity brother just bought one.
And there is no way that the G35 is the "American Skyline", at least not the American Skyline GT-R. In 2007 we will see the R35 GT-R and it will be detuned and it will probably suck compared to the JDM version, but hey..it will still be a Skyline.

yup the 3.5 altima, the maxima, G35 and the 350z all share the same motor type the vq35de
and the g35 is the same thing as the skyline
as so that the tuscani is the tiburon
the silvia is a 240sx
and so on
its what the trim style that makes them different
and some had different motors
silvia had the SR20DET where as the 240sx came with a KA24DE here
