I got a Miata
The interior all in all after installing a roll bar or cage and a bucket seat if even leaving the passenger seat out might net you 100lbs. There is nothing the has mch wieght besides Hvac. Door panels are compressed partical Cardboard carpet weighs about 10lbs, plastic dash is 4lbs, head unit is 2lbs and 2 small speakers. Thats all that is there. Remove anything else would take me cars comfort or what is there away like windows and windscreen.

I'm with Ron on this one. I stripped the guts out of my LC and the biggest difference was noise. I deleted:
-back seats
-carpet
-hatch trim
-roof lining
-door trims
-spare tyre/tools
-center console
-stereo
-air conditioning system
-power steering
-pillar trims
-rear seatbelts
...everything apart from the front seats and dash, basically. The dashboard itself weighs bugger all, you might be able to cut out door skins and intrusion bars to save a further 10lb, perhaps. After that we're looking at expensive composite replacement panels and speed holes in structural members.
I reckon the miata would end up looking like that 14 second sentra if you managed to get 400 lbs out of it.

The '01 weighs 2400Lbs. The one pictured weighs 2000 Lbs. I'd say it very do-able since the '01 (NB series) has more crap that can be eliminated than the pictured car (NA series).
A base Na wieghs low 2300 depending wiether its ABS or not. So he only took out 300lbs. The NBs do t offer anything an NA doesnt besides a bouble on the trunk and no flip up headlight motors.

The base NA weight is without a/c, radio or p/s and with manual locks and windows. I'm gonna guess 187sks's car has those options and probably cruise control too. I'd bet his weighs around 2500 Lbs.

I do have cruise, pw, pdl, A/C, ps, and radio.
I run with that orange Miata all the time. It looks like a blast and goes like hell.
