HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA REPORTS STRONG NOVEMBER SALES

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif., 12/03/2007
Hyundai Motor America today reported a November sales increase of 12 percent over a year ago, led by Santa Fe and Sonata, both up 41 percent for the month. Additionally, the Accent, one of the company’s ultra low emission vehicles (ULEV) that delivers up to 37 miles per gallon, saw sales rise 19 percent. In total, the company sold 31,883 vehicles for the month, compared with 28,417 a year ago.

“This was our second best November ever and considering the current economic uncertainty we are pleased with our results,” said Dave Zuchowski, Hyundai Motor America’s vice president of national sales. “Strong incentive programs helped our dealers sell our remaining inventory as we move to fill our showrooms with the full lineup of our 2008 products.”

All Hyundai vehicles sold in the U.S. are covered by The Hyundai Advantage, America’s Best Warranty. Hyundai buyers are protected by a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty, a 5-year/60,000-mile bumper-to-bumper warranty, a 7-year/unlimited-mile anti-perforation warranty and 5-year/unlimited-mile roadside assistance protection.

Following is the sales breakdown for the month and the year:

I am always amazed at how many Sonatas Hyundai sells. Not because the Sonata is a bad car, I would drive one, just surprised that so many people pick the Sonata.

Poor mans luxury car!

They buy an inexpensive car like the Sonata, then throw some 24" bling on it, tint the windows, install a huge system, and right away...they got baller status!

"Yo dawg...your whip is ttiiiggghhhttt! What kinda car is dat?"

"Its a Hyundai Sonata, yo"

Don't have a Sonata, and there's no way in hell I can squeeze 24's in, but I get asked the "what kind of car is that?" question quite a bit.

Not surprised in the drop in Elantra sales. Think it has to do with the HD platform. I can't stand em' myself. Sad to say this will be my only Elantra unless something drastic changes when i'm done with this one.

Not a big fan of the HD myself, although I think it has potential it just needs a lot of work which is sad.

it excites me to see Hyundai gaining more POSITIVE recognition. I can't wait for the Genesis to be released, I hope it exceeds all the hype! It'll be battling directly with the Pontiac G8, which is already boasting as "the most powerful car under $30,000"
