How Wide Can You Go On 17x7 Rims?
#1
my bro has a 95 240sx and he has 17x7 rims on his car, i know he shoulda got wider rims but he got them cheap.
my question is, how wide of a tire can he go on those size rims? Assume the offset is irrelavent for now.
Can he fit 225's on there?

first of all, on a 95 240sx he should have 17x9 Volks... second, I would suggest 215 would be plenty, but 225 shouldn't be a problem. I have 215 on my 7.5's and they're fine... and I believe I had 215's on my 17x7s and didn't have any problems.
225 should work, but might be a little too big for the wheel (appearance wise)

alot of cars come with a 225 width tire stock on a 6 inch wide rim. they will look fine on the 7 inch wide one. and he wont have any problems with that size on his 240, that car can swallow alot of rubber.

majik, yeea like i said he got them for cheap or else he woulda got some wide ass rims for his 240.
and yeea i'm running 215's on my 17x7 rims, just wondering if a step up would be possible on that size.
thanks
