So I was just looking at a few specs on the genesis, and I was wondering what version are most people here that are going to get the car actually going to get?
choices:

GENESIS COUPE GT

GS equipment Plus:

* 3.8-liter DOHC V6
* Leather steering wheel / Shift knob
* Metalgrain /chrome interior accents
* Automatic temperature control
* Fog lamps
* Premium door sill plates
* Trip computer
* Chrome front fascia accents
* Auto light control

GENESIS COUPE GS

Key Standard Equipment:

* 2.0-liter turbocharged, intercooled four-cylinder engine
* Electronic Stability Control
* Traction Control System
* ABS
* Tire Pressure Monitoring System
* Front, side, side air curtain air bags
* Active front head restraints
* Manual A/C
* Keyless entry
* Power windows, door locks, and mirrors
* AM/FM/XM/CD Player/USB/iPod connectivity
* Steering wheel audio controls
* Cruise control
* Vanity mirror illumination
* Bluetooth

GENESIS COUPE SE

Unique SE equipment:

* 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or 3.8-liter DOHC V6
* HID headlights
* Aluminum pedals
* Manual A/C
* 19-inch alloy wheels
* High performance Bridgestone Potenza RE050A summer tires
* Brembo braking system with monobloc four-piston calipers
* SE track-tuned suspension / front strut brace
* Limited-slip differential
* Black leather bolsters / red cloth insert seats
* Rear spoiler
* Aero wiper blades

Only reason I ask is because, on the I4 versions the difference between the 2 is more so one as a "traction control system,

and the other has a LSD. Also one has HID headlights and a few suspension mods along with Brembo brakes.

Now my question is along with which one would you pick is; is the SE version worth the extra money or would it be more

worth wild to do the upgrades yourself ?

I would go with SE. But all depends on prices of the two models. fing02.gif

it totally depends on the prices of the two models. I'm going to get the 4cyl most likely... I really want the sedan, but spending $40,000 on it is too pricey for me, I'd rather spend $25,000 on the turbo and another $10-15k on upgrading it before I would buy the sedan

i gotta agree with majik. I want the V8 sedan but I'll probably end up getting the 4cyl turbo. It really depends on the price difference if I would get the SE version or not tho.

part of me wants to get the super cheap base model.... allowing me to put a few extra grand into the engine.

BUT, I want LSD and suspension and brakes... which I really don't care to do myself. I may be willing to pay the extra $3k or so to get those parts, since I probably wouldn't upgrade from the Brembo, LSD, or suspension.

I know it will be at least 2011or 2012 before i get mine. that way, i will have a nice stockpile of parts before i have a car payment. having a car payment and trying to buy parts, well....sux,lol.

also, they might change the body style or the front bumper after 2years like the did with the gk and i might like that one better,who knows. i so much like the 05/06 gk front end so much better.

what i would like to know is...

will the I4 be a beta2 engine and if it is,i'll be looking for a beta2 airram,lol. old school on new car.

not to mention the one piece black bezel headlights. i'm on the same page. the concept version bumper is really nice! but 100% of internet opinions i've read from multiple car forums including genesis coupe sites all can't stand it. that's why i was all upset earlier. perhaps i said it too harshly, but point is it makes it look cheap and plasticy and i would think they wouldn't want clients to notice that. the chassis and rear panels are about the same size as a DB9. the chassis and profile outline are absolutely great.

despite this, although the genesis coupe offers so so many goodies, i'm waiting for the 2010 euro tiburon. if it looks like a Ferrari 360 i'll make the dealership hate me for "trips to see the manager". if it looks kooky i'll have lost all faith in the world and move to some island in seclusion lmao.gif so far looks like there's a turbo coming, but lack of RWD won't be a huge loss for the winters.

if i had bundles and were purely sold on the looks, i'd go with the 2.0T SE because as Majik mentioned i'd rather have the goodies already installed, and it might be included with the warranty. black looks the best, hides some of the imperfections and brings the nice outline and reflection out making it look more classy

red will make it look more exotic.
