Audi that is....

As MacGyver, he inventively used everyday gadgets to get himself out of a sticky situation.

But in real life, Richard Dean Anderson isn't quite as nifty. The actor appeared clueless when his car broke down in Malibu yesterday. The now 61-year-old star, who played Angus MacGyver in the hit TV series for seven years, was seen on the side of the road with his Audi sedan, seemingly waiting for some assistance.

At first he looked as though he was going to draw on his special skills to fix the automobile. With the hood of the car up, he peered inside to assess the problem.

But as time wore on and after circling the sedan several times, it appeared that he gave up, leaning against the grey vehicle with his legs casually crossed, waiting.

On his famed action adventure series which ran from 1985 - 1995, MacGyver was known to concoct clever solutions to solve the impossible.

In the blink of an eye he often came up with intricate contraptions with the help of his scientific knowledge.

Some of his skills included diffusing a bomb with a paper clip and building a weapon using the springs of a mattress.

In fact when it came to defending himself, MacGyver refused to use a gun, always relying on his quick thinking and savvy tools.

It was his character's ability to do so that made the show an instant hit, especially among those interested in science and engineering.

After his seven year run on MacGyver, Anderson went on to produce two follow-up movies of the show in 1994.

In 1997 he then landed the role of Colonel/Brigadier General/Major General Jack O'Neill in Stargate SG-1, starring as the main character for a subsequent 10 years.

Most recently Anderson appeared as a reoccurring character in the U.S drama Fairly Legal for five seasons.

Are the keys attached to his elbow??? Maybe he just lost his keys and is looking under the hood for them.

He does look pretty bad in that last pic, barely looks like him.
