Why feel bad? I think they're stupid for paying that much. No one is forcing them to overpay. The dealerships are getting way out of hand and too greedy. That is why Tesla sold direct to the public and went through hell to fight off the dealer "union". It's not fair to the public for the dealerships to hold a monopoly on someone else's product.

What Dodge is doing is committing to common sense. Making a fairly affordable hot car rare makes it that much more collectible and therefore pricey. IMHO this was inevitable considering sales.

Hellcats will never be collectible. There's nothing special about them other than the amount of power. Dodge did this because they simply can't keep up. They don't have the production capacity.
