I never understood the gearing of the super cars. .0001% of the time is anyone ever going to go above 150mph, so why gear it up to 200+mph? You could have easily 8-9 sec cars there if they had some 'normal' gearing turned into high 10's. That is why I am a GT-R fan, normal gearing, allowing you to have a blast with 'minimal' power. I am all about 'too much' power, you can never have enough, that is what the pedal is for, to control it. But I do think you can have too much speed, and IMO, 200+mph is too much, unless you are a dedicated track ie indy/nascar ect. I understand some people like to track their cars, but not even on a SCCA or HPDE are you going to get anywhere near 200mph, I mean professional race tracks type cars might need it.

Interesting point, I agree. I guess these are some of the only cars that are compared to top speed as well as real world performance figures.
