Anyone have any experience with Nissan Xterras?
Thinking about maybe picking one up as a new daily driver, and keeping the tib for weekends or shows. TO those who have experience with them, how are they for reliability, gas mileage, and sportiness?

My mother in law has one. Drives very slow and cautiously. She average 21mpg.
It's rugged. reliable I suppose, but she says it's the most uncomfortable vehicle she's ever owned. She's giving it to her 16 year old daughter, she hates it.
I suppose it depends on what you want it for. I was surprised at the size, I expected more room in the back. It's not small, just smaller than I anticipated.
I've driven it a few times. My '09 Murano is infinitely better in every way, but it's more plush and less rugged. If you're gonna be throwing a muddy mountain bike in the back, maybe the XTerra is better (and cheaper) but I'd personally go a different route.
This is my opinion, and I wanted an XTerra at one time b/c my friend made his a nice show vehicle. I wouldn't drive one now if you gave it to me.

Get a Jeep! I have a brand new Wrangler, and 2 months ago, I bought a used Liberty (mostly for gf to use in the winter). You'll enjoy a Jeep way better than a Nissan.

The only thing a Jeep does better is go off road. Unless that's what it's being bought for, the Xterra is a much better pick.

I have a Frontier and wouldn't trade it for the world. Definetly get the 4.0. Amazingly reliable vehicles. Get the jeep and be ready to make repairs. The last Nissan I had was my dads hardbody. Went hunting every year and had over 280k on original tranny and engine!

My '87 Hardbody has 460,000+ miles on the original motor. It's been sitting in front of my shop for about 9 months. Today, I threw a charge on the battery and it fired up on the first crank. Take that, Top Gear Toyota Hi-Lux!
