I posted this at a Geo site.. but i want to post it here to, to see what kinds of ideas you guys could add..

I got a 90 geo metro that is going to be used as an offroad vehicle. today i am stripping the interior of everything but front seats pedals shifter and steering wheel... i plan on building a roll cage, and jacking up the geo. The exhaust is going to go up through the roof as it will be seeing the beach..

I want to make the interior hosable.. (if that is even a word) I want to be able to open the door and just spray a hose inside and clean it..

I also want a little more torque and hp. (obviously to be handled by the guys over at the geo site.)

We are talking about taking the hach and roof completely off.. good idea? bad idea?

Tires are going to need more tread so is there any kind of offroad tires i can use on the stock rims? I was thinking Riding lawnmower tires. lol. fit?? (also to be handled by the guys over at the geo site.)

Any other suggestions would be awesome!!

Anyone want before and after pics??

Yeah I wouldnt mind seeing some pics. With cutting the rear and hatch out you may get some stability issues unless when you build the roll cage you really buid one heck of a cage including supporting the fron window beams. If you want to be able to just hose the car down inside and out you may want to look at the spray on matting that trucks use in the bed. I believe it is Rino Liner but I am not sure. Just that, some vinyl seats and belts, and seal the gauge cluster and all of the electronics you should be good. You may also want to ceramic coat the pipe as it goes through the car so that you do not feel as much heat coming off of it.

It is the exhaust going through the roof that bothers me. Why do you need that? Not even 4X4s that see some serious offroad work use that method.. unless you want to be driving through serious water (and I wouldn't on the beach, I have seen trucks get swept out to sea trying that) I would just bring up up either behind the front wheels or before the back, you can sweep the tailpipe up some to keep some water out.

As for tyres, I would see about some hard compound rally tyres for dirt. They have a good grippy tread and usually a good tread life.

Ahhh, I've been waiting for this.

Cysco had a Metro.

Ya'll wanna see it?

I have proof from SEVERAL members here that this was his car. And yes, the photos are real.
