thank you REDZ... thank you!!! i would have punished this first but you did the job for me.

I don't know why people think the HCD 8 is ugly. Ask yourselves this question--if you took the hottest girl ever for a ride, which one would she be more impressed with, your cheap tiburon tin-can, or the HCD 8????? Point made.

1) How is the HCD 8 ugly? oh man.. i'd take it over my car, or a GK anyday!

2) As REDZ stated above. Of course the HCD 8 won't be the next tiburon. It's not. You can't just say it's going to be. The HCD 1,2,3 were not tiburons. the 1 surely wasn't because it looks like a viper. but if you notice, the curves from 1 were taken, the body from 2 were taken, and the styling of 3 were all taken together to make our commercial cars. The 2007 tiburon is going to be less agressive and more commercial just like the rest of 'em. Some of y'allz gotta know the history before you run into conclusions. I've said this a bunch of times over and over to sum it up: Hyundai Tiburon is the next generation 1991 Scoupe, not the next generation Porsche Carrera RUF. C'mon. Of course it's not going to have rear wheel drive, or a V8 engine, or some of that high quality material. It's still going to be a cheap ol' Tiburon, but will have a bold look while maintaining a commercial Sport Compact appeal. It's geared for the same class as: Eclipse and Celica. Not Camaro or Cobra.

YES, R-man stated it. The CCS is not the 2007. The 2007 will be put out in late 2006 as a 2007 model. Basically they made the CCS to see if they could sucessfully make a convertible, and to see public demand from auto shows. demand = good. hyundai = "let's make it". but the actual convertible won't look anywhere near like the CCS.

It's not a big heavy car at all. Jeezuzzz... that's just the concept. It barely even runs. It's a show car. The insides are all for show and glamour. It's meant for people to see, not test drive off the turning wheel unless someone wants to pull off a GTA. How can ya tell how much it weighs by looking at the pic. In reality, the HCD 8 is about as small as our tiburons.

I say, just enjoy the concepts, sit back, and judge when you see my "spy shot" post next year.

Actually the women-folk love my "tin-can." tongue.gif Or maybe I'm just too sexy that it doesn't matter? LOL.

I think it would be more appealing to more people if it was a different color. What kind of color is that supposed to be anyway.

Hey it's true! lol... i love it and my gf better have one too, but which one would you rather be seen in?

I'm going to go for the Hyundai HCD 2, the last pic. It's tight, agressive, it's like an exotic version of a Tiburon!! Second choice, is the HCD 8 because it looks like a sports exotic. Third would probably be my car. But we don't have much of a choice now do we? lol...

so NOW do some folks here see how much more commercial the actual tiburon is compared to what they're based off of?

believe me, i love these cars to insanity. but you do need a can opener to get in! tongue.gif

I like 2007 concept, it looks sporty, agressive, luxurious, expensive.
It has similar to RD1/RD2 body lines.
Front of the concept also looks like Audi new style (big grill).

I understand that this concept will never be in Hyundai line.
But I think new Tiburon will be based on that concept a lot, especialy body shape.

sure the girl's love it! they do think it's some expensive sports car. it looks even more expensive when you tune it up. and it looks like a ferrari in a parking lot.

the thing is though, it's still made up of some of the cheapest materials. and that was hyundai's intention to make it more affordable (for us!! haha). i love that, but it's still pretty darn cheap, plasticy. that's what we get from most imports. hyundai electronics are just horrible. BUT you do get a lot for what you pay for though in the sense of the bold style and comfort, the bucket racing style seats, agressive looks...etc. i came up to this conclusion reading tons of reviews and having owned 2 excels, 3 tiburons, and 2 elantras. you won't be able to see the reality of this until you compare it to another car. we can all assume of course. i will, that i would take this car's super awsome interior over any of the new cars today with a better quality.

the materials have changed and been upgraded on GK's. so the ride quality is better and it seems more stable. but the dashboard design and some of the interior have just gone to scraps.

that's what i meant by tin-can. gotta admit though, it's true! at the time, 1996, hyundai could not afford to build the quality of cars like they have now. the ride quality is definitely a lot worse on my car than the GK because of it. but who cares, i did work my butt off shipping an EVO bumper for it which is worth approximately half my car B)

i have a problem with people not liking RD1's and HCD's. They are just so sleek I can't imagine anybody disliking these machines in any way, cheap or not.

I love the HCD 8..my second choice would be the HCD 2. If Hyundai came out with one of these along with increased power, it'd be a big and good step up for them.

normally it seems that the tib styling was borrowed from the concepts, but i think the HCD 8 borrowed a bit from the rds. check this out:

I think the front fenders scream rd. its got kinda the same curves. I think thats pretty sweet!

Smart for them to do that. I love how the RDs look down the side... although both the GK and RD are very nice looking cars. While the GK is sharp-lined, it isn't overly sharp like the last generation of the Celica.
