denis your the one that offered this right? I couldn't find it on the site the way I wanted it. I saw the little bits of pipe, I wanted to get one fabed up in aluminum 2.5 in. pipe, about the same size as the stock maf, I'm just going to replace it inline.

thanks!

radu_rd2 05-14-2009 01:25 PM

I might be down for one also, dammit Denis you need to put up a list of all the cool stuff you make haha

Ericy321 05-14-2009 02:03 PM

Ya he has them. Or used to I think.

What you will end up doing is undoing the torx bits on your stock MAF and putting it ito a flange in the hard pipe. Really nice idea.

mwood 05-14-2009 05:20 PM

you guys need to check out the list of parts they make for Hyundai's...its a thread for them fing02.gif

Denisst99 05-14-2009 10:40 PM

we do make them in steel or aluminium
most of the time in stock

SS would be special order

basicly, it's a raised flange that needs to be welded on your actual intercooler or CAi piping
it's made for 2.5" piping diameter

position the flange in the desired spot, mark all around, cut a "D" shaped hole in your piping to let the MAF sensor part go in the piping, align everything, weld, enjoy wink1.gif

radu_rd2 05-14-2009 10:51 PM

Can you make one already welded in an alum pipe? Basically to exactly replace the stock MAF?

supercow 05-14-2009 11:37 PM

^^thats what i was getting at, i'd just want it to replace where i have the maf right now. in aluminum, and since i can't tig if you could fab them up it would be great!

radu_rd2 05-15-2009 06:51 AM

By the way, the stock MAF is 3" no? Does the different diameter affect the MAF reading? I know there was a huge thread about this but don't remember the conclusion heh

hamhead 05-15-2009 07:18 AM

The stock MAF is 2.75 I believe.

supercow 05-15-2009 12:26 PM

^^ I know denis has been using these for a long time though, test product now.

So what do you say? Can you fab us up replacements and what will it cost?

Denisst99 05-17-2009 01:40 AM

i've been using that even when i was NA
i didn't want to have the 2 extra couplings on each side of the maf for a cleaner look

outside of the MAF is 2.750"
inside of the maf is about 2.375" wich is about the same internal size of most 2.5" aluminium pipes

i guess i could weld an adaptor on a piece of pipe, but you would still be stuck with a coupling on each sides, ruining the "cleaner" look

what's your idea? just so i can figure out what could be done

radu_rd2 05-17-2009 06:20 AM

Well I am already using couplers and don't want to change the rest, so would rather still use couplers. Just looking for something stronger so i can clamp it as hard as i want (I'm afraid i'll crack the stock MAF if i tighten the clamps it too hard). Plus I'd use straight couplers instead of the 2.5-to-2.75 reducers. I'm guessing that's Supercow's reasoning as well

Denisst99 05-18-2009 10:32 PM

Radu,
i understand your point
in your case an easy way would be simply to use regular worm type clamps and spray some hair spray inside the couplings before putting it on the maf (this stuff does stick more then you think) just don't let the GF find out what you're using her stuff for ;-)

i'll check what i can do

radu_rd2 05-19-2009 05:08 AM

Haha, thanks for the tip!

I have already converted the entire house in a workshop, going through her stuff for misc automotive purposes will be the last straw! lol

supercow 05-19-2009 09:35 AM

I was just thinking that my maf got a little melted so I thought I might as well take this opportunity to upgrade rather than getting another plastic one. fing02.gif

lilo shark 05-19-2009 07:42 PM

why not make a 3" one? arent aem cai's 3"?

radu_rd2 05-19-2009 08:39 PM

We turbo guys don't need 3" tongue.gif

And having the same internal diameter ensures the MAF reading is not changed

Denisst99 05-19-2009 09:31 PM

when i was running NA i did run a 3" tube, worked quite well, but i was cheating it a bit with the smt-6
but, alone i would say it worked "ok" but didn't try it much

supercow 05-19-2009 11:23 PM

so how much denis! wink1.gif if you can do it let us know so I can get it ordered! thanks!

Denisst99 05-22-2009 11:11 PM

i'm tied up on 2 projects right now,
once those are out of the shop i'll look at what can be done for size and all that stuff

supercow 11-08-2010 07:25 PM

just remembered about this. So what do you say?

Denisst99 11-10-2010 01:21 AM

just to be sure

you want a 6" long tube with the maf attachement on it?

supercow 12-15-2010 09:53 PM

Yup, that would be perfect.

(sorry, forgot about this

edit: oh, aluminum please, what I want is:

1. unbolt sensor from plastic maf

2. bolt to new atelier hp maf

3. replace worm gear clamps with t-bolts

4. boost without poping off couplers!!! yeah!!! :pepper:

Denisst99 12-24-2010 12:03 AM

IF your piping is already done, why not just weld the adaptor in it

2 less couplings to blow ;)

supercow 12-24-2010 12:23 AM

cause there's a maf there now. That part is steel right now and I plan to swap it to aluminum over the winter actually. I'll end up with welds there anyways.

Denisst99 12-24-2010 12:39 AM

gotcha!

6" beaded pipe with maf adaptor then

i should have the adaptor in stock,i`ll just have to bead a pipe and weld it on

i might be able to do it between the holydays....

SR Tech 12-24-2010 09:14 AM

Not to overload you Denis, but I would totally buy one of these as well. I don't have the capabilities of TIG welding, only have a wire welder, so to buy a completed piece would be awesome

Turboron_99 12-24-2010 10:03 AM

I would also like to buy a hard maf replacement to please!

Denisst99 01-03-2011 01:18 AM

i found out yesterday that i was out of MAF adaptors and flanges

i`ll try to make some by the end of the week and see how it goes from there

Denisst99 01-04-2011 12:58 AM

Maf adaptors done today

i'll try to build 2 maf for wednesday

supercow 01-10-2011 12:52 PM

whats the word?

Turboron_99 01-10-2011 01:54 PM

I got a pm from him, he is got alot going on, but he is getting them done, give him till the end of the week, and i will get ahold of him again!

Denisst99 01-14-2011 06:49 PM

the aluminium MAF housing are done

no more problem with the stock housing bending and cracking when using t-bolt clamps

it's a 2.5" x 5.8" inch long pipe beadead on each side with one of our MAF adaptor welded to it

pricing for those will be 80$can + shipping

I've got 2 ready to get out of the shop

:: Jedi mind trick :: You will offer anodizing on these parts.

Denisst99 01-15-2011 02:16 AM

i don't have a local shop doing that anymore....

maybee if another one opens...

supercow 01-17-2011 09:27 AM
